About GFX Printing

A history of high standards and quick production turnaround in the printing industry.

GFX Printing online since 1993.

Our very first web site way back in the early 1990s was quite funny and you may be able to find it through the Wayback Machine online (online archives) -- there were so many restrictions in what we could do, i.e. 640 pixels by 480 pixels (screen width), let alone banks and financial institutions allowing a merchant account for a technology that barely anyone even knew.

We definitely have come a long way, baby.

As a small family business, our laser beam focus has always been and will continue to be serving other small to mid-sized businesses who require high quality printing in lower quantities with budget-friendly prices -- and always a real person on the other end of the phone or email message who isn't thousands of miles away from our location -- we're really on-site.

We are celebrating our 25th year in 2018. We started out as a design firm in the late 1980s and in the early 1990s evolved into a wholesale fine art greeting card company (My Sentiments trademarked logo in Canada and the USA. My Sentiments® Greeting Cards). From the greeting card business, we found that there was more of a need to provide small businesses, just like ourselves, a way to promote themselves affordably, and GFX Printing was officially born in 1998.

All online color printing of postcards, business cards, bookmarks, etc. is gang run on large presses. This means that numerous files are on the same sheet with many other customers. Color reproduction is typically "pleasing", although we strive for better than that and will usually get "bang on color" -- we can't guarantee that color will be "bang on" every time, but we do guarantee that we'll do our best.

GFX and The Environment

We use soy-based inks instead of traditional petroleum-based ink. Also known as vegetable-oil ink, soy ink is a great advancement in the print industry. Soy ink is a safe and environmentally friendly ink because of its simple compound compared to petroleum–based ink. Soy ink can also be easily removed from paper, which is helpful in paper recycling because it is quicker to process the paper which leaves a smaller carbon footprint over petroleum-based inks.

Our Aqueous and UV coatings consist of very low to zero traces of volatile organic compounds (VOC) which reduces harmful components that damage the atmosphere and the surrounding environments. Our production facilities are all alcohol-free environments using only alcohol substitutes as well.

We use paper that is produced specifically for paper-making and is not produced from illegally deforested trees.
